In 2013 The Russian parliament decided on a new law that prohibits “gay propaganda”. This includes a ban on the rainbow. We think that the world looks much better with more rainbows, not less.
In respons to Putin's visit to Amsterdam in April 2013, putinarainbow.com asked people to creatively combine two conflicting symbols (Putin and the rainbow) in one image. The result is a happy marriage between the face of oppression and the symbol for equality.
